(2 days of Lean Basics and 2 days of Yellow Belt)
SIX SIGMA YELLOW BELT
Problem solving and prevention is essential for any industry and most positions. Six Sigma Yellow Belt training provides an introduction to process management and problem solving using the basic tools of Six Sigma. In this course, participants will learn the tools needed to effectively and accurately identify the root cause of a problem, and then are taught a systematic method for addressing and correcting the root cause to prevent problems from reoccurring.
This training is designed to be an introduction to Six Sigma Quality Tools and the DMAIC (define, measure, analyze, improve, control) process. This training covers tools such as Statistical Process Control (SPC), Statistical Analysis, and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis. The project is designed to provide hands-on solutions rather than all classroom lectures.
The people attending can include a wide variety of functions such as engineering, quality, test, supervision, administration and line workers.
Project Objectives
• A thorough introduction to process management and the basic tools of Six Sigma
• A stronger understanding of processes, enabling each individual to provide meaningful assistance in achieving the organization’s overall objectives
• A complete understanding of the tools to effectively and accurately identify the root cause of a problem
• A systematic method for addressing and correcting the root cause to prevent problems from reoccurring
SIX SIGMA GREEN BELT USING THE DMAIC FRAMEWORK – SIX SESSIONS
In this Six Sigma Green Belt program, your staff will learn project management and statistical tools to dramatically improve existing processes while meeting the needs of your customers profitably. Participants will learn through classroom and hands-on training the Six Sigma Green Belt Body of Knowledge as defined by the American Society for Quality (ASQ).
Using the structured problem solving framework of the Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control (DMAIC) methodology, your team will learn how to solve process issues using fundamental quality tools. Participants will learn through repeated simulation exercises of a common process in the form of a catapult. The catapult exercise provides opportunities to generate data, analyze variation, and evaluate input, output, and noise factor in an easily accessible, controllable environment.
This training covers process quality management tools such as SPC, Root Cause Analysis, Statistical Analysis, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis and Design of Experiments all within the DMAIC framework. These tools are the foundation for Six Sigma work, and attendees can apply the tools and concepts to problems in their workplace as they participate in the training sessions.
Project Objectives:
• Learn the Six Sigma process quality management toolkit
• Apply the DMAIC methodology and tools to process problems in the workplace
• Reduce process variation and product defects
This program is designed to be an overview of ASQ’s Six Sigma Green Belt body of knowledge and can be valuable as part of preparing for ASQ’s Green Belt certification exam,. It is not endorsed by or affiliated with ASQ, nor does completion of this class confer any certification from Manufacturer’s Edge or American Society for Quality.
